A wind turbine can be an excellent way to harness alternative power and reduce your utility bill. Wind power is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative power source. There are wind turbine farms popping all over the country. It is also possible to have a wind turbine of your own. While it is possible to purchase a preconstructed turbine, you can build wind turbine units at your home.

A wind turbine is a great way to decrease your dependency on the utility company. By decreasing the amount of electricity that your draws form the power company, you not only reduce your bill but you are also helping the environment. Utilizing wind power form a turbine is good for you and the environment.

These construction projects are relatively simple and cost effective. The important aspect of an alternative power source is that it be cost effective. Meaning that the initial cost of the project should be able to be returned in savings on your electric bill in a short period of time.

There are various sources for pre-made wind turbines that provide quality projects, but if you are relatively good with construction projects then this should be simple. There are many different DIY manuals on the market that provide you with detailed instructions on how to complete the construction of a wind turbine and how to connect them to your homes power grid.

When deciding to build wine turbine projects for your home you should research the various DIY manuals to see which ones have been given the best rating. There are sights that will provide information on these manuals and rate which ones are best.

There are some things you should look for when choosing a DIY manual to build wind turbine projects. It is a good idea to find an instructional program that includes video instruction as well as written instruction. Make sure that these manuals are well written and thorough. It is also a good idea to find a project that has a support team that will address your phone calls or emails to help you with the process.

Earth 4 Energy - DIY DVD Series

Real Customer Testimonial Below:

My wife and I have been looking for good information on renewable energy solutions for some time now because of the recent price increase in traditional energy sources. After receiving your Earth4Enregy guide we made our own solar panel grid, and it is giving us more than enough energy to power our household appliances. Our next step is to build a wind powered system for those cloudy days. We have already noticed how much money we can save! Thanks again for giving us the know how to help make this a better world for our kids and grand kids.

Home Made Energy - DIY

Real Customer Testimonial Below:

After reading your book I haveve decided to go with the solar system. Although it is very rainy in UK, there is enough Sun to power it up. In UK the price of electricity is probably bigger than in US. So I do not know if you realize how great this is for our money savings. By the way, you have put a lot of work in the HomeMadeEnergy guide and it shows. I want to congratulate you for doing this. I really do not think you will go wrong with Home Made Energy!

Energy 2 Green - DIY Training

Real Customer Testimonial Below:

When work cut my hours, I honestly did not know how I was going to make ends meet. When I first heard about your book from a friend at work, I did not think it was for me. I cant start the lawnmower half the time so I did not think I could possibly build a solar panel or windmill, but I had to cut cost somehow or risk me and my 2 small children becoming homeless. Not only did it help us save $100 each month, the electric company is now sending us a check each month!

I highly recommend Energy 2 Green to ANYONE!

DIY Power: Choosing Between Wind, Water, And Solar

By: Ryan Narendra

When it comes to DIY power sources, the possibilities are endless. People have been coming up with their own sources for power for centuries. Wind, sunlight, and water are the common ways that people get power from nature. The following examples describe a little bit about each type of power source.

Windmills- These range in all sizes and have a variety of purposes. There are mills that convert the wind’s energy into power to grind grains. Other versions are used to power sawmills, hammermills, papermills, and even for pumping water out of the ground. Some of the earliest windmills were invented in Persia in the ninth century. These ancient versions were constructed from six to twelve sails that were made from cloth. Today these creations are made from wood, metal, and even types of plastic. Most windmills used today are used to generate power for homes.

Solar Power- This technique hasn’t been around nearly as long as wind power, but it is gaining popularity. While this is a highly desired power source for sunny locations, it is still quite expensive to convert to using it.

There are two kinds of ways to harness this power; through photovoltaics and concentrating solar power. Photovoltaics converts solar radiation into DC or direct current power. Production of this type of power has been doubling yearly since it began in 2002. As for concentrated solar power, or CSP, this requires the use of mirrors and lenses for tracking sunlight. This sunlight can be used as a heat source for a power plant or concentrated onto surfaces that use photovoltaics. CSP is said to have been used in ancient China, however, it was used in 1866 to make steam for the first solar steam engine.

Hydropower- This might be the one source of power that isn’t usable by everyone in a do-it-yourself fashion, unless they have access to a large source of water. With this process, power is produced by the energy of moving water.

Large cities use this type of power to run commercial buildings, as well as residential dwellings. It can also be sued for operating machines, such as lifts, sawmills, dock cranes, and watermills. Water wheels and mills have been used in India for hundreds of years. In Rome, water was used to power the mills for grinding grain, sawing timber, and cutting stones.

When determining which DIY power source you’d like to try to harness, keep in mind what you have available to use. For instance, wanting to create your own hydropower source when living in the desert might not be a feasible choice. There are plenty of plans available online for creating any type of creation you can dream up, in order to harness these types of energy produced by nature.

Power Solar Wind Alternatives Help Make A Change

power wind solar

solar wind power

By: Ryan Narendra

Our fossil fuel reserves are failing and no one knows how long the oil will be around. Some experts say oil will be gone in a few decades. It makes no sense to sit and wait for someone else to rescue you so using alternative power solar wind and others will start the trend for a new way of living. There are plenty of reasons to choose another alternative of energy:

Our environment has been seriously damages from fossil fuels. In 2002, scientists concluded that in the next decade we will see a drastic change in our weather. Oceans will rise from the melting of the glaciers, drastic events of the weather, and droughts in the inlands. Every individual has their own home, however we all share one home, our planet, and we need to care for it.

Using fossil fuels are damaging to people, our crops, our animals and more. Air pollution is being contaminated by fossil fuels. Some pollutants caused by fossil fuel are carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons. Power plants cause nitrogen oxide and cars are the main cause of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. These pollutants may cause headaches, respiratory infections, and pneumonia, among other problems. Some illnesses don’t appear until many years later.

Fossil fuel damages our waters and our land also. Unintentional but severely damaging is oil spills, which results in the loss of animals and plants. The ashes from coal mining mixed with water (as it washed through these mines) will form acid, which washed into the ocean and affects the land also.

Thermal pollution is also a problem. Fossil fuel burning takes place during the electricity-generation process and this produces heat energy. A lot of this energy is released in the environment and water. Although heated air is not an issue, heated water is and can cause problems for our aquatic ecosystem. Take matters in your own hand and change how you power your own home. Make a change, starting with you and your home. Alternative power solar wind and other alternatives can help turn around our planet before it is too late.
